Cafe Manager
We are seeking a motivated, experienced cafe manager.
This position is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to inspire and develop a high‑performing team.
Key responsibilities:
Demonstrated strong leadership capabilities in developing, supporting, and motivating a new team
Build customer loyalty and handle feedback with care and professionalism
Monitor sales performance and manage operational budgets, control labour and stock costs, maintain supplier relationships, and review financial reports to implement strategies that improve profitability.
Ensure compliance with Food Control Plan requirements, Health & Safety regulations, and New Zealand employment legislation.
What you will bring:
Be a natural communicator and genuinely enjoy building relationships with customers
Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar Cafe or FOH management role
Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude
Weekend availability is a must.
Barista
We are seeking an experienced and confident Barista
We’re looking for an experienced and skilled Barista who can confidently work independently and take ownership of the coffee station.
This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for preparing coffee to a high standard, while also assisting with Front of House duties when required. As you will often be working independently, solid barista experience and strong coffee-making skills are essential.
Key responsibilities:
Preparing high-quality coffee consistently to a high standard
Setting up and managing the coffee station independently
Maintaining a clean, organised, and well-stocked coffee area
Taking orders, serving customers, and handling Front of House duties when required
Providing friendly and efficient customer service
Ensuring food and beverage quality and presentation
Following food safety, hygiene, and health regulations
Working efficiently and confidently during busy periods
What you will bring:
Proven professional experience as a Barista — strong coffee-making skills are essential
The ability to work independently and manage the coffee station with confidence
Good knowledge of espresso-based coffee and coffee preparation
Strong customer service and communication skills
Good English communication skills are essential, as you will be working directly with customers and handling Front of House duties
Japanese language skills are a plus, as we have many Japanese-speaking customers
Strong multitasking and organisational skills
A positive, reliable, and hardworking attitude
Flexible to work rostered shifts, including early mornings, weekends, and public holidays
